What is a Seamless Texture / Pattern?
A seamless texture is an special image, where one side of a image exactly matches the opposite side, so that the edges blend into each other when repeated. Seamless textures are used for desktop wallpaper, webpage backgrounds, video games, Photoshop fills and in 3D rendering programs.

How did you make it?
This texture was made using software specially designed to aid in seamless texture creation. Some of the programs I’ve use are Photoshop, Illustrator, Filter Forge, Genetica, Image Synth, Alien Skin, Topaz Labs, Imagelys, and a Wacom tablet.

Going Down (B+W)

The way down (and up) to visit the small glass enclosure at the very top of the Iowa State Capitol. It's a pretty steep and windy set of stairs. Our tour guide (Senator Beall) said that the Capitol was built with day-laborers in the mid-1800's. That makes you think about a lot of things when you are on those stairs!

This part of the tour follows the outer wall of the dome (made from reclaimed bricks). You can see the blue sky back drop for the mural suspended above the eagle and flag just to your left.

The Capitol
The five domed Iowa State Capitol Building was built between 1871 and 1886. It houses the Senate, Legislature, Governor's Office, and some other important groups.

The best feature is the central towering dome constructed of iron and brick and covered with 23 carat gold. The gold leafing was replaced in 1964-1965 at a cost of ,938. The dome is 275 feet above the ground floor and is 67 feet in diameter. Four smaller domes of simple design rise from the four corners of the Capitol.

The Capitol grounds overlooks the city from a very large hill and is part of the East Village area. It's a great place to see fireworks in the summer or attend a political rally (of which there are many).

The TD America Fireworks in Omaha were spectacular this year. They took place just outside of the new stadium Saturday night after the College Home Run Derby. These were shot just North East of the park looking back towards downtown.

This part of the show was my favorite.

Canon 7d, 15-85mm lens. Vanguard Tripod.

The settings for this series were - ISO 200, f11-14, and anywhere from 3-8 seconds.
