À Ottawa ce week-end il y avait des sculptures de glace qui étaient magnifiques mais présentées sur un fond pas plus beau qu'un abri tempo rendant toute photo inintéressante mais par chance j'ai trouvé à côté d'une oeuvre ce bloc de glace non-entamé qui réagissait avec la lumière indirecte du soleil.
In Ottawa this week-end there were some ice sculptures that were astounding but presented over an ugly background of snow shelters making any taken picture uninteresting but by chance I found just beside one work an untouched ice block which reacted with the indirect sunlight.

Lac Brome / Brome Lake

Les seules modifications que j'ai faites sur cette photo: effaçage de 3 pixels fous (des points rouges qui apparaissent quand je prend des longues expositions), redressage de l'horizon (moins de 1 degré) et recadrage/rapetissage pour les grandeurs de fond d'écran variées. Le dégradé de la dernière lueur du soleil au ciel étoilé est sans trucage tel que je l'ai pris il y a à peine quelques heures.
The only modifications done on this picture: erasing of 3 crazy pixels (red dots that appear when I take long exposures), rotation of less than a degree to correct the horizon, and cropping/resizing for the various background screen sizes. The spread from the last daylight to the night with stars is as I took it a few hours ago without any special effect.

Âge vénérable / Venerable Age

Bien que cette personne soit morte il y a plus de 150 ans et bien que l'espérance de vie des gens a augmentée au fil des époques elle a vécu plus longtemps que 99,9999% des gens d'aujourd'hui (et encore, il me manque surement des 9 après la virgule, je n'ai fait qu'un estimé personnel)
Even if this person died more than 150 years ago and even if the life expectancy grew over the eras, he (or she) lived more years than 99.9999% of today's people (and since this is a personnal estimate there are probably missing a few 9 after the dot).

Au musée du comté de Brome à Knowlton on peut trouver ce vieil avion de la première guerre mondiale, le seul au monde encore recouvert avec de la toile originale. Cette photo du jour qui vise un des montants connectés à l'aile supérieure est la première de toute une série prise à Knowlton.
At the Brome County Museum in Knowlton we may find this old world war I plane, the only in the world with some original fabric covering. This picture of the day showing one of the struts connected to the upper wing is the first of a serie taken in Knowlton.

La grosse vache en roches / The Big Rock Cow

Lorsque je regarde cette chose je ne peux pas m'empêcher d'imaginer la petite réunion municipale qui a créé ce projet: "Ok, qu'est-ce qu'on a ici que l'on peut mettre en valeur?" pose le maire en se grattant la tête, "ben, on a des vaches..." répond un conseiller en haussant les épaules....
When I look at this thing I cannot stop myself of imaginating the little town meeting which created that project: "Ok, what do we have which we could promote?" ask the mayor while scratching his head, "Well, we have cows..." one answers shruggling his shoulders.
