Why is this larger than the resolution of the iPad?
Apple recommends that wallpaper created for the iPad be made to a resolution of 1024x1024 so that the image is not stretched/distorted when rotating the device into portrait or landscape.
How did you make it?
This background was made using graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Filter Forge, Genetica, Alien Skin, Topaz Labs, as well as several other programs.

Feeling inclined

It's Tuesday, so it's time for another free texture -- this one taken in Norris Point (in the middle of Bonne Bay), Newfoundland. It'd make a pretty decent wallpaper for your computer too, if I do say so myself...

For your Tuesday texturing -- another shot from Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. Should be great for "roughing up" a shot via some Photoshop layering (or flip it, and use it as wallpaper for your computer).

August Wallpaper Calendar
Sunset over Port Gallice, Antibes. France.
This is a wallpaper you can use for your computer made out of one my pictures here on flickr. It integrates a convenient calendar for the month of August 2008 in the bottom right corner of the desktop for a quick look. I am uploading a new one every month!
Taken with a Nikon D80 and post-processed with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
